After signing the contract with Al-Anwar Al-Anajafyia for Culture and Development in Iraq (ANFCD), Al -Anwar Al-Najafyia in US has started its first humanitarian activity by distributing food baskets during the holy month of Ramadan.
Over 3,000 baskets were distributed during the holy month which costed approximately $76,183.00, where the distribution process was carried out by ANFCD.
The head of Al-Anwar Al-Najafyia stated “The distribution targeted the orphans and their families in addition to the poor and needy people in all over Iraq.” “The cost of each basket is approximately $25 as it included various food items.” added he.
The basket included:
- 9kg Rice
- 2ltr Oil
- 1.5kg Tomato pasta
- 400g Tea
- 1.8kg Milk powder
- 800g noodles
This basket can feed a family of four people for 15 days, which was able to help them cover their Iftar for half of the holy month of Ramadan.
